Enfield's own X-Factor Show - A Vocal Talent Search.
Simon Gilbert, well-known local singer, vocal teacher
and director of his own highly successful musical theatre company, Spun Gold
Promotions, is capitalising on the huge success of The X-Factor, by planning his
own Talent Show, " Search For The Stars !", to be staged at a number of local
theatres including, hopefully, The Millfield Theatre, Edmonton, Broxbourne Civic
Hall, and The Wyllyotts Centre at Potters Bar. The prospect of a vocal talent
search will be a highly exciting challenge for Simon.
Talented local youngsters, across an age group of from
13 to 25 years, will take part in preliminary auditions, singing songs from
musical theatre to popular classics; lucky applicants will then perform their
songs in a series of elimination show cases, where Simon will seek to improve
each individual performance in voice and presentation. The final selection of
participants will go on to appear in a show ata local theatre.Finalists wlll win
a day in a recording studio, producing their own demonstration CD.
Their may be a further opportunity to appear at a major
West End theatre.
Simon was a leading man in West End musicals, and
operatic soloist with world class singers including Luciano Pavarotti. In 1999,
he won a seven album recording contract across the spectrum of popular and
classical music, selling across the UK and USA.
On sale will be Simon's latest CD of popular classics, entitled "On Wings".
